NYC DOE Rescinds Job Offer For Former New Rochelle Principal

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The New York City Department of Education has rescinded a job offer to a former high school principal from Westchester County.

As WCBS 880’s Mack Rosenberg reported, Reginald Richardson has been the principal at New Rochelle High School since 2013.

His resignation, announced Friday, comes amid trying times for the schools there – a student was stabbed to death earlier this year, and Lohud reported the school is under investigation for alleged grade fixing online.

Richardson said he was leaving to take a part-time job with the New York City DOE as a director of school quality – training school leaders on how schools could be best organized to maximize the student learning experience.

But that job has now been taken back. The DOE said in a statement to WCBS 880 that the officer was rescinded after it became aware of additional information.
