JERSEY CITY (WCBS 880) — At least three officers in Jersey City were hospitalized Thursday after being injured during an investigation in which shots were fired, according to reports.

The officers were taken to Jersey City Medical Center following an investigation on Rutgers Avenue. Their injuries are reportedly minor.

While it remains unclear how the officers were injured, reports say they were responding to a report of possible drug activity.

Officials say one suspect pulled out a weapon and fired it, but nobody was struck by gunfire.

Reports say the suspect, 32-year-old Jamel Bolden, was arrested and is expected to be charged with resisting arrest among other charges.

The incident comes just weeks after a massive shootout in a Jersey City kosher grocery store resulted in the deaths of one officer and three civilians.
