Police Arrest Suspect In Connection To Random Hate Crime Assaults

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police arrested a man in connection to numerous random attacks on white pedestrians in Manhattan that occurred this month.

Officials have Todd Lyons, 33, in custody and charged with him with hate crimes adter releasing surveillance footage of him on Thursday. 

Police say the series of hate crime assaults started on August 9, at 14th Street and Fifth Avenue, when the suspect shoved a 56-year-old man to the ground.

Lyons then allegedly attacked three others on Aug. 14 including a 58-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman, officials say.
