Police: Boy Brought Gun To School In East New York, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police on Monday were after a 14-year-old boy who apparently brought a gun into school with him in East New York, Brooklyn.

Administrators said the boy ran after trying to enter the W.H. Maxwell Career and Technical Education High School on Pennsylvania Avenue.

He allegedly had a .25-caliber weapon in his backpack.

It was discovered when he put his bag through the scanner and the gun was recovered on the spot, authorities said.
