NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are searching for a man in connection to an assault and two criminal mischief incidents that occurred in Brooklyn.

Authorities say that on Friday, November 8, the suspect approached a 23-year-old deliveryman in Crown Heights, briefly engaged him in conversation and pistol whipped him on the back of the head.

The suspect fled eastbound on Lefferts Avenue on foot.

Minutes later, in front of 470 Lefferts Avenue, police say the suspect approached a parked vehicle and yelled at a 55-year-old woman who was seated inside before he struck the car's side view mirror.

The suspect continued walking southbound on Brooklyn Avenue and used a handgun to shatter two windows from the Beth Rivkah Elementary School located at 470 Lefferts Avenue, police say.

He fled the scene on foot southbound on Brooklyn Avenue and was last seen heading westbound on East New York Avenue.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 25 to 35 years old and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweat suit and light colored sneakers.
