Police: Teen Struck By Vehicle During Water Pistol Fight On Long Island

KINGS PARK, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Child’s play by teenagers turned into a serious accident on Long Island this week.

As WCBS 880’s Sophia Hall reported, authorities said a group of teenagers was playing a game using water pistols in Kings Park at the Key Food grocery store parking lot, when something went very wrong.

One of the teenagers – Charles Tumminello, 18 – was struck by a Lexus driven by a friend and fellow student at Kings Park High School, police said.

The driver – identified as Nina Lisske, 18 – stayed at the scene and was issued a summons for reckless driving, police said.

Tumminello was seriously injured and was in critical condition at the hospital.

The incident happened in the parking lot around 10 p.m., police said.
