NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Are you ready to head back to the movie theater?

Most Americans say they would like to see a movie in theaters withing a month of their state reopening, according to a new Hollywood Reporter/Morning Consult poll.

Many clarified that they would only go if there were staggered seating and sanitization measures in place.

However, only 22% of those polled said they would go to the cinema within the same time period if their state reopened earlier than expected.

If the state met Washington, D.C. regulations and the theater ensured cleaning measures were being taken and offered staggered seating, then 53 to 51% of respondents said they would buy a movie ticket within the first month of reopening.

Respondents between the ages of 18-29 appeared to be the most inclined to return to the cinema, the poll found.
