Tenant Accused Of Fatally Shoving Queens Landlord During Rent Dispute

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A Queens landlord died after a tenant allegedly pushed him down a flight of stairs while trying to collect a late rent payment on Sunday.

The incident was caught on doorbell camera which shows 71-year-old Edgar Moncayo hitting the back of his head against the concrete after falling down eight brick steps on 102nd Street in Corona.

Moncayo leaves behind a wife, a son, a daughter, and several grandchildren.

The tenant, identified by police as 22-year-old Alex Garces, was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
