Smoke At Hoboken Station Snags PATH Train Service

July 23, 2018 - 3:47 pm

HOBOKEN, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- A smoke condition at the Hoboken PATH Train station shut down service Monday afternoon.

PATH trains on the Hoboken-World Trade Center and Hoboken-33rd Street lines were halted just before the afternoon rush began because of the smoke condition.

CHECK: PATH Train Updates

NJ TRANSIT rail cross-honored PATH tickets at Hoboken and at New York Penn Station, while Hudson-Bergen Light Rail honored PATH tickets at Exchange Place, Hoboken, and Newark Penn Station.

PATH service had resumed by 4:25 p.m.

The PATH system snag came the same day as the Long Island Rail Road had to cancel multiple trains during both the morning and afternoon rush due to a derailment in the West Side Yard over the weekend.
