Stormy Daniels And Her Attorney To Attend Michael Cohen's Next Court Hearing

April 15, 2018 - 1:19 pm

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen is going to be in a Manhattan court on Monday, and a familiar face is expected to attend his hearing.

As WCBS 880’s Mike Smeltz reported, Michael Avenatti, the attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels, told CNN’s “State of the Union” that he and his client will be attending Cohen’s court hearing.

“We got comfortable with a security plan for my client. She’s going to attend at 2 o’clock on Monday,” Avenatti said. “I think Monday afternoon could prove to be very interesting.”

Avenatti said he and Daniels are not trying to provoke Cohen by showing up. He said the message they are sending is that what is happening in court is a serious matter to his client.

What is happening is that Cohen is looking to get a temporary restraining order on the documents the FBI seized in their raids of his office and home. The judge hearing the case has asked Cohen to appear to answer questions about his practice.

Some of what is reportedly being looked at by federal investigators is the $130,000 payment Cohen made to Daniels to stay silent before the election about her claim to have had a sexual liaison with President Trump.
