Suspect Convicted Of Manslaughter In J'ouvert Shooting That Killed Cuomo Aide

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- There is a guilty verdict in the fatal shooting of a former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo at the annual J’ouvert Festival in Brooklyn in 2015.

Kenny Bazile has been convicted of manslaughter, but he was acquitted on murder charges.

Gabay was hit in the head with a stray bullet as rival gangs fired at each other during the celebration before the West Indian Day Parade.

Three other suspects are also being tried.

A fifth took a plea deal and agreed to testify against the other four.
