Teen Arrested Over Egg Attacks Faces Multiple Hate Crime Charges

NEW YORK (WCBS 880)-- Police arrested a teen accussed of throwing eggs at a synagogue and a woman in Borough Park.

Mohib Hoque, 18, of Brooklyn, faces three counts of hate crime assault, three counts of hate crime aggravated harassment, three counts of hate crime harassment and hate crime reckless endangerment, according to police.

The charges stem from a series of egg attacks that occurred last weekend.

Police said in the first incident, an egg was thrown at a 38-year-old woman walking on 38th Street near 14th Avenue last Saturday. The woman was not hit.

Minutes later, an egg was thrown through an open door of the Congregation Bnei Torah Sanz on Dahill Road. The egg struck a wall inside the synagogue.

The next day, a 50-year-old woman walking on 38th Street near 15th Avenue was hit in the back with an egg. Police are searching for two suspects in that incident.
