NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Another teen from Queens has been struck by gunfire and the shooting may be linked to the one that killed another teen over the weekend.

Police believe the intended target of Monday's shooting outside the New Dawn Charter School may have been on the basketball court at the Baisley Park Houses Saturday night when 14-year-old Aamir Griffin was shot and killed.

The bullets Monday afternoon struck an innocent 16-year-old leaving school.

Edward Smith, who was working construction nearby, witnessed the shooting, “The girl was on the ground screaming. She was crying and saying, 'Oh, I got shot. I got shot.’"

The girl was struck in the shoulder and is expected to recover.

Police have released images of three people in the school shooting. They say the gunman may have been as young as 10 years old.

They believe both shootings are gang-related.

Investigators are looking at shell casings found at both scenes to determine whether the same firearm was used.
