NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- There will be a big sleepover in Times Square to raise money to fight homelessness.

Organizers are calling the 50-city event on Dec. 7 the "World's Big Sleep Out."

The pedestrian plazas in Times Square will be closed and actor Will Smith will read a bedtime story to the crowd.

In the London sleepover, Dame Helen Mirren will be among those sleeping outside.

Organizers say if you can't make it to Times Square, sleep outside in your yard to show your support.
