NEW YORK (WCBS 880)-- LIRR riders had to endure more than just the brutal cold during the Wednesday morning commute.

Third rail problems west of Jamaica caused widespread delays and some cancellations during the height of rush.

All westbound trains with the exception of the Port Washington Branch added stops at Jamaica while crews worked to address the issue.

Repairs were made around 8:30 a.m. and westbound trains resumed their normal stopping patterns.

NYC Transit is no longer cross-honoring LIRR tickets on the 2/3 subway line from Atlantic Terminal to Penn Station.
