Woman, 56, Found Fatally Stabbed Inside Staten Island Home

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman on Staten Island. 

Around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, police discovered an unconscious and unresponsive woman with several stab wounds, within the bedroom of a two-family residence located at 15 Osgood Avenue.

The victim was later identified as 56-year-old Deidre Borders.

Authorities say the victim was found with a wire or cord wrapped around her neck on the floor in the bedroom of the first floor where she resided.

A neighbor called the police after hearing a commotion in the home. 

EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Police deemed the incident a Homicide.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
