LAKE GROVE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A 23-year old-woman says she was carjacked outside a supermarket on Long Island.

Stephanie Rodriguez tells WCBS 880's Sophia Hall that she was waiting outside Whole Foods in Lake Grove for her boyfriend to get off of work on Monday night when a man walked up to her and asked her for directions.

He then pointed a gun to her face telling her to get out of her 2008 Chrysler (pictured above).

"So I get out of the car and he said, 'Alright now get lost' and he gets in my car and he took off with my car," Rodriguez said.

She ran inside the store.

"I'm like literally shaking. Like I dropped my phone several times. I dialed like 411 cuz I couldn't get 911 to dial. Like, I couldn't," Rodriguez said. "I was terrified, I was so sure that I would've been hurt."

The suspect is still on the run and Rodriguez is advising others to keep their guard up.

"Just be really careful, especially at night time," Rodriguez said. "Like keep your guard up so high because you really just don't know."

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.

All calls will be kept confidential.
