'You're Gonna Have To Shoot Me,' CT Man Yelled At Police Before Fatal Shooting

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Footage from police body cameras show the erractic behavior of a Connecticut man fatally shot by police on Thursday.

Michael Gregory, 30, can be seen picking up a knife and repeatedly yelling, "You're gonna have to shoot me," to Officer Brendon Nelson, who attempts to talk him down.

Later, the video shows the police using a Taser on Gregory, who then charged at the officers with a knife before he is shot.

The body camera footage confirms details of the incident released by the police over the weekend.

Police had been called to the house of Gregory's estranged girlfriend, who said that Gregory was violating a no contact order.

Nelson and the other officers on the scene, Sgt. Christopher Flynn and Officer Wojciech Podgorski, are on administrative leave, according to the Hartford Courant.

"This footage is just one part of the on-going investigation," according to a statement from the Connecticut State Police. "Detectives from the Western District Major Crime Squad will continue to investigate this incident. Once their investigation is completed, detectives will submit their findings to the Danbury State’s Attorney’s Office for review."
