NXIVM Leader’s Trial Shines Light On Alleged Sex Cult
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Testimony at federal court in Brooklyn in the trial of alleged cult leader Keith Raniere is providing an inside look at NXIVM, a secretive group in Upstate New York that prosecutors described as a sex cult.
Friday morning’s testimony focused on cash and kink.
A police investigator told the jury about finding more than a half million dollars in cash in the home of Keith Raniere’s partner.
Another witness told the jury of bondage gear sold to a Rainiere associate.

The defense noted the equipment is legal.
A third witness was initially charge din the case.

Lauren Saltzman described how she was Raniere’s slave.
He was called master and grand master and supreme master.
She admitted she’s already pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and extortion.
Prosecutors said some sex cult members were held prisoner and said naked photos were used to force them to act against their will.
