NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The NYPD say they arrested the man suspected of punching a woman and fracturing her spine during an anti-gay attack inside a subway car.

Allah Allasheed, 54, was arrested Thursday and charged with assault as a hate crime in the Nov. 30 attack aboard a Manhattan-bound E train.

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force released a photo and video of Allasheed on Wednesday.

It's unclear if Allasheed had an attorney.

The 20-year-old victim and her friend tried to get away while he screamed anti-gay slurs at them.

Authorities say he then punched the woman in the back of the head and shoved her down.

The victim struck her head on the floor and suffered an injury to her spine.
