NYPD: Burglar Dead After Being Stabbed, Hit With Baseball Bat During Break-In Attempt

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- An alleged burglar has died after being struck with a baseball bat and stabbed during a break-in attempt in Queens.

Authorities say officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Williamson Avenue in St. Albans at around 2:45 a.m. Sunday.

When police arrived, they found the 26-year-old alleged thief with trauma to the head and a stab wound in his abdomen.

Investigators say the owner of the home attacked the man with a baseball bat, hitting him over the head before stabbing him.

The 26-year-old was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
