NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Fourteen cells at the 42nd Precinct in the Bronx that have not held any prisoners since the last century are being decorated for the holidays with lights, garland, stuffed-toy elves and tinsel.

The New York Posts say the displays will soon open to the public and are meant to be an ice-breaker with the community.

One room looks like Santa’s office, with a naughty and nice list.

Another is decorated for Hanukkah, and a third is dedicated to the Grinch.

The station house had previously reimagined itself as a Halloween haunted house.
