Four Teenagers Murdered In Brooklyn In One Week

July 18, 2018 - 7:45 am

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Another teen was brutally killed in Brooklyn Tuesday afternoon, the fourth murder in just one week.

Police confirmed that 15-year-old Kyon Jackson was shot repeatedly near a playground at Bushwick Houses just before 3 p.m. The teenager was rushed to a nearby hospital but did not survive.

Authorities say the shooter approached the teen on a bike and the two engaged in some sort of dispute before the first shot was fired.

A homeless man sitting nearby was also injured in the attack, police said. His left cheek was grazed by a bullet but was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Jackson was the fourth teenage boy to be murdered in Brooklyn in the last week. A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Brownsville, a 16-year-old died after being shot in the head in Bedford-Stuyvesant and another 16-year-old was killed in East New York.

Police said the attack may have been gang related, and there is one person being questioned by investigators.

Jackson’s mother told the Daily News that her son was not involved in a gang and said he had dreams of one day going to college and eventually buy his mother a house.
