NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A Bronx man allegedly ran over his ex-wife with a car and then repeatedly stabbed her to death with a machete, the NYPD announced Friday.

Authorities remain on the hunt for 63-year-old Victor Mateo, who they say is responsible for the death of his ex-wife, 58-year-old Noelia Mateo.

The incident reportedly happened Thursday morning around 7 a.m. as the woman left her home for work. Police say she was attacked as she was getting into her car near 533 Ellsworth Avenue in the Bronx.

Police allege Victor got into her car before she could and reverse the vehicle over her body. They say he then got out of the car and attacked her with a machete.

It’s unclear where the suspect fled to or what he was last seen wearing.
