NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – The NYPD is reportedly investigating the conduct of one of its officers after a protester was violently pushed to the ground during Friday night’s heated protest in Brooklyn over the death of George Floyd while in police custody in Minneapolis.

A video posted by the protester, identified as Dounya Zayer, shows her in front of the male officer on a street near the Barclays Center. He tells her to “get out of the street” and she asks “Why?” The video cuts off after that.

Okay since everyone is asking what exactly happened: so we were protesting at pacific street and then the police started hurdling towards us and pushing us forward at the same time they were pushing protesters to the sidewalk but the officer in the video didn’t seem to give a single fuck pushes this poor girl so freaking hard ending up hitting her head hard on the ground, she started saying that she might have a concussion and was feeling really dizzy and said that she has a history with seizures, after that we put her on the side and gave her some water and crackers and then everyone left but me and my friends we wanted to make sure she’s totally fine and able to stand up until out of nowhere she was looking at me and had a seizure, while I was holding her on the staircase I was yelling on the top my lungs MEDIC MEDIC they ended up coming after 5 min of calling and that was it. #blacklivesmatter #nypd #cnn #policebrutality #georgefloyd #nycprotest #nycprotests #nyc #brooklyn #justiceforgeorgefloyd #blacklivesmatter✊-- #ftp #solidarity #barclayscenter #protest #brooklynprotest #cuomo @cnn @nycmayor @nygovcuomo @nypd

Moments later, other videos appear to show Zayer being shoved to the ground by the officer. Protesters rush to her aid and a man yells “get his badge number!” as the officer walks away.

“First he threw my phone and then he threw me,” Zayer said in a video posted from a hospital bed. “And I hit my head and I had a seizure and I have a concussion.”

Zayer was reportedly released from the hospital Saturday morning.

The NYPD told NBC News that the officer is under investigation.

"We'll look into that incident, but I can say it was in the midst of a chaotic time over at the Barclays Center," NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan told WCBS 880's Joe Avellar.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said Saturday morning that he was launching an independent review of the violent clashes between protesters and NYPD officers Friday night. Over 200 people were arrested and a number of officers were injured.

City Council Speaker Corey Johnson called for the officer to be charged with assault.
