NYPD: Man Tried To Rape Woman In Park In The Bronx

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are looking for a would-be rapist who attacked a woman while she was running in a Bronx park.

Authorities said the 35-year-old woman was jogging in Bronx River Forest Park just before 8 a.m. Monday when they said a man attacked her from behind. He put his hand over her mouth and an arm across her chest in an attempt to pull her back but police said the woman fought him off and called out for help before running further into the park to escape.

The victim came across the man a second time as she exited the park and managed to take his picture. She escaped on foot and was treated for minor injuries, authorities reported.

The man described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 17 and 25, remained in the park. The victim reported that he had a slim build and was wearing a white hoodie, black shirt with a cross design, black short and white sneakers.
