NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Police are looking for two men in the killing of a 15-year-old boy who was shot at his Brooklyn apartment building Friday evening.

The NYPD released surveillance video Sunday of the two men wanted in the shooting. They are men believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.

Police also released an image of a car that’s sought in connection with the case.

Car Samuel Joseph

Samuel Joseph was shot shortly before 6 p.m. Friday as he left his apartment in Flatbush with his sister, law enforcement sources told The Daily News. His family said he was just getting some food.

Two men were waiting outside the apartment and pulled a gun as Joseph and his sister stepped outside, the sources said.

Joseph was shot in the head and body, according to police, who said he was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

Police sources told The Daily News the shooting may be a case of mistaken identity.

“He was just a good kid,” his brother Don Joseph told CBS 2. “He’s not a gang member. He’s not into any type of situation that would actually cause that.”

Joseph’s mother was visibly anguished Saturday as family members tried to console her outside their home.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
