NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A Queens man has been arrested after police discovered an arsenal of weapons in his apartment building, the NYPD announced Monday.

Officers discovered 71 weapons in the basement of 60-year-old Ronald Drabman's apartment building on 208th Street in the Oakland Gardens section on Sunday.

Police received a tip and found the cache of weapons after obtaining a search warrant from the Queens District Attorney's Office.

Officers seized 23 handguns, 45 rifles, shotguns and assault rifles, one zip gun, and two .177 caliber pellet guns. In addition, there were over 50,000 rounds of ammunition and 100 high-capacity magazines seized, NYPD Chief of Intelligence Tom Gallati said.

Drabman has two prior arrests, the most recent in 2017 for possession of a loaded handgun, Gallati said.

It was one of the largest gun seizures on a single search warrant in NYPD history.

Drabman is facing 111 counts of weapons possession charges.
