NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A woman’s face was fractured in a violent attempted robbery on the Upper West Side this week, police say.

The 57-year-old woman was walking under construction scaffolding near 68th Street and Amsterdam Avenue on Thursday night when she was approached from behind by two men, according to police.

One of the men sucker-punched her in the head as the second man tried to steal her purse, police said.

The woman fought back against her attackers and they ultimately took off empty-handed, according to police.

The woman suffered fractured bones on her face.

Police released surveillance video of the attack on Saturday as they continue to search for the men involved.

They also released additional images of two other men they're looking for in connection with the attack, bringing the total number of suspects to four.
