NYPD: Woman Forced Into Building, Raped By Predator
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A woman was walking in the Bronx when she was attacked by a predator who forced her into a building and raped her, police say.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect Tuesday morning.
The woman was assaulted near St. Ann’s Avenue and East 135th Street in Mott Haven around sunrise on Sunday, according to police.
The NYPD said the attacker approached her and said he had a gun.
The man forced the woman into a building, where he made her perform a sex act and then raped her, police said.
After raping the woman, the man stole $40 from her and ran away.
Police said the woman was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where she was treated and released.
The suspect is a black man who was wearing a black hoodie, black sweats and white sneakers, the NYPD said.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
