The future is lucky pretty bright for a couple who found a winning lottery ticket in their car’s sun visor, according to “Today.”

Frank Laquitara and Debbie Long-Combs were driving to Virginia when they received an email saying a winning ticket for the August 24thPowerball lottery had been sold in their home state of Connecticut.

Long-Combs quickly looked for the ticket she had stowed away in the car’s visor and soon found they had the winning numbers.

"Frank checked the tickets while I read the numbers off of the email — we matched four numbers, plus the Powerball," she told the Connecticut Lottery. "We didn't believe it, even after I repeated the numbers twice and checked the ticket with the Lottery's mobile app.”

In the midst of their vacation, the pair didn’t mention their good fortune to anyone and safely put away the ticket until they could get it verified back in Connecticut.

The engaged couple said the timing was “impeccable” as they desperately needed a new car and a motor for their boat that has been out of commission.

Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games as tickets are sold in 44 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Tickets cost $2 and players select five numbers from 1 to 69, plus a Powerball number from 1 to 26. You can also choose to double non-jackpot prizes by enacting the Power Play option for another dollar.

Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 pm EDT.  Saturday’s upcoming drawing currently has a jackpot of $60 million.

If you buy a ticket, make sure you check your car’s sun visor.
