Laurel Griggs, Broadway and 'SNL' Actress, Dies at 13

Laurel Griggs, a Broadway actress who has also appeared on ‘SNL,’ has died at the age of 13.
Griggs’ obituary was posted to Dignitiy Memorial, which said she died on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Her grandfather wrote on Facebook that her cause of death was due to a massive asthma attack.
The actress is best known for her role as Ivanka in Broadway’s “ONCE the Musical.” She debuted on Broadway in 2013 at the age of six as Polly in the production of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” alongside Scarlett Johansson.
In addition to her work on Broadway, Griggs appeared in the TV series “Louie” and “Bubble Guppies,” as well as two episodes of “Saturday Night Live” in 2017. She also had a role in the movie “Café Society,” which starred Steve Carrell.
Eliza Holland Madore, who held the same role as Griggs in “ONCE,” wrote a heartwarming tribute to the actress on Instagram.
“I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of one of my Ivanka sisters,” Madore wrote. “Laurel- you were always smiling and always made other people laugh. I’m so incredibly grateful I got to know you. You will never be forgotten, and we will never stop loving you. Everybody in the Once Family is going to keep you alive through us. R.I.P. My heart goes out to her family.”
