Oreo Reveals Unusual Mystery Flavor
The Mystery Oreo flavor has revealed itself! Oreo has announced the inspiration for its mystery flavor is “churro.”
According to Fox News, the brand released the cookie as part of a mystery flavor contest on September 16th. Participants were asked to try the cinnamon cookie and guess the flavor of the cream inside. At the time of the contest announcement, the company revealed that the flavor could be a completely new flavor or a combination of two existing ones.
The contest for the #MysteryOREO ran through November 10th, and those who guessed the flavor correctly were entered into a sweepstakes to win $50,000. The Oreo Instagram revealed Monday that the mystery flavor was, in fact, churro.
“Nice work, super-sleuths,” the caption read. “We have notified the winner directly.”
Along with tons of Oreo cookie hopefuls, a few celebrities joined in on the challenge with Gaten Matarazzo guessing that the mystery flavor was “French toast.” “I taste cinnamon. It’s very yummy, very cinnamon-y,” he says in the video he posted to Twitter.
Matarazzo then passed the guessing challenge off to Terry Crews, who confidently guessed that the flavor was “graham cracker.”
The churro-flavored cookies are available for a limited time nationwide.
