Some Samsung Users Say Phones Randomly Texted Their Pics To Contacts

July 05, 2018 - 12:30 pm

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Heads up if you have a Samsung phone.

Samsung is investigating reports of certain models sending photos without the user's permission to people in their contact list.

One Samsung owner wrote on Reddit that his entire photo gallery was randomly sent out.

It appears that the photos are being sent through the default Samsun Messages app.

Some users have reported that there is no trace in their Messages app that the files have been sent. They only find out when someone replies.

Initial reports indicate that the bug has affected Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note8 phones, but it is still unclear how many users or models may be impacted.
