Shots Fired At Outdoor Party On Long Island; 4 Injured

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Nassau County police say four people at an outdoor party on Long Island were injured after bullets fired from another yard penetrated a fence and struck them.

Two men and two women were shot in the backyard of a home on Dorlon Street in Hempstead at around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the bullets came from a yard located behind the home, from a building on Burnett Street, and pierced the PVC fencing separating the two properties.

A 38-year-old man and 43-year-old man were taken to Nassau University Medical Center. A 41-year-old woman and 42-year-old woman were taken to Winthrop Hospital.

There was no word on their conditions.

Nassau police did not release any information on the shooter or the motive for the attack.

The investigation remains ongoing.
