NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Thousands of Con Edison customers were in the dark in Brooklyn Sunday as a winter storm hit the Tri-State.

Mayor de Blasio said some 4,000 customers were affected in Park Slope, Windsor Terrace and Dyker Heights at the height of the outage.

Power was restored Sunday evening. Con Edison blamed the outage on a powerline failure related to the storm.

The outages came as the city and region continued to deal with a two-day winter storm.

Inches of snow, sleet and rain are in the forecast from Sunday through Monday.
