NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — President Donald Trump on Monday took issue with investigations into his businesses and charities in New York City, calling it another “political Witch Hunt.”

In a series of tweets, Trump accused Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York Attorney General Letitia James of “harassing all of my New York businesses in search of anything at all they can find to make me look as bad as possible.”

James is overseeing the investigations into Trump’s foundation, which was forced to shut down last year.

Trump said Cuomo “uses his Attorney General as a bludgeoning tool.”

“His suggestion that it’s my attorney general is just incorrect,” Cuomo said of the accusations.

The attorney general is an elected position, Cuomo noted. He says the investigations are being conducted for legitimate reasons.

“If he has nothing to hide, he has nothing to worry about,” the governor said.

The president also accused Gov. Cuomo of dramatically raising taxes and ended his twitter rant writing “they never even looked at the disgusting Clinton Foundation.”

Attorney General James is currently suing the Trump Foundation, saying it was improperly involved in the president's political campaign and private business affairs.

She said on Twitter that “no one is above the law.”
