October 25, 2018 - 8:43 pm

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The mall at Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle was partially evacuated as a precuation as police investigated a report of two unattended packages.

The NYPD's bomb squad and emergency services unit responded to the scene after the packages were found on the third floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The first floor of the mall remained open.

The packages were evaluated and police said there is no threat or danger.

Police spokesman J. Peter Donald gave the all clear on Twitter around 8:40 p.m. and said the mall was being reopened.

This comes a day after a crude pipe bomb was discovered in a package delivered to CNN's New York headquarters, which is located in the building. That suspicious package was among 10 that were also delivered to former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, actor Robert De Niro and others.
