NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Unseasonably warm temperatures are hitting the Tri-State this weekend, with a decades-old Central Park record already broken Saturday morning and another record broken Sunday morning.

The mercury surpassed 65 degrees in the park Saturday morning, shattering a record high of 63 set back in 1975. The high ultimately reached 69 degrees in the park by afternoon.

Another record was broken Sunday morning, when it reached 67 degrees, shattering a record of 66 degrees set in 2017.

Temps will be warmest Sunday morning before temps drop throughout the day. They’ll fall into the mid-to-upper 50s by early evening and drop into the upper 30s overnight.

Monday is colder but still relatively mild for this time of year, with a high of 48 degrees under partly sunny skies.

There’s a chance of rain later in the day on Tuesday, when highs will again reach into the upper 40s.
