Woman's Body Found Covered In Blood In Upscale Stamford Home

June 12, 2018 - 7:49 am

STAMFORD, Conn. (WCBS 880/AP) -- A woman has been found dead in an affluent Connecticut neighborhood and her husband has been hospitalized.
Police swarmed the 1920s Tudor-style home on Highcliff Terrace after Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin says the woman's husband called 911 around 8:30 a.m. Monday to report his wife was covered in blood and not breathing.

Conklin did not describe the circumstances that lead to the woman's death.

"We have a female in her 70s deceased, untimely death, not a natural death and we're going from there. We're doing a very complete, concise investigation. We've committed a tremendous amount of resources to this investigation," Conklin said.
Property records show the home is owned by a couple in their 70s, and it has an assessed value of close to $1 million.

Neighbors say the husband and wife were sweet and would often be seen gardening together, WCBS 880's Sean Adams reports.
An investigation into the woman's death is ongoing.
