LAKEWOOD, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- A woman in New Jersey made a disgusting discovery after a trip to a Dunkin’ Donuts last week.

In a video posted to Facebook, Crystal Platzer shows that the sandwich she ordered at a chain in Lakewood was riddled with maggots, flies and worms.

“CHECK YOUR FOOD PEOPLE,” she wrote on the post, which generated over 500 shares.

Platzer said she had gone to the fast good joint on Route 88 on Thursday to pick up a few sandwiches for breakfast. Her 2-year-old son devoured his, but she said she vomited after taking one bite.

“You get dead flies in your sandwich,” she said in the video.

The graphic video shows a close up of what appeared to maggots, flies and worms embedded in the egg on the sandwich.

She told WCBS 880 that the owner said he’d look into the incident and offered her Munchkins.

“A Munchkin,” she said. “Not even a refund, nothing.”

Platzer contacted the Lakewood Police Department and the Ocean County Health Department. Both she and her son have not had any adverse health effects.

A Dunkin’ Donuts spokesperson said they’ve made sure all food safety rules were being followed at the franchise.
